Rude things people say

I've been wanting to get my hair cut. Sawyer likes to pull on it and eat it so I end up keeping it pulled back. I was in town for an appointment today and Jody was finished at work so I sent him home with the kids, and I went to get my haircut. This is the first time he's kept all three kids, but I assured him his mom was home to help out. I figured that between the two of them, they would be ok. Sawyer got fussy while I was gone because he was hungry, but he wouldn't take a bottle. It turns out he didn't like the nipple, but that's not the point of my story. While Jody and MIL were dealing with Sawyer, MIL tells him she can't believe he hasn't gotten snipped yet. WTH is that supposed to mean?! Like it's any of her business how many children we choose to have! It's not the first time she's made a comment like that, and it really irks me.

Loose Tooth

Olivia has her first loose tooth. She is insanely excited, and I am secretly sad. My baby girl is growing up too fast! Just this morning Olivia asked me when she was going to have a loose tooth. She is jealous that her friend has already lost a few teeth. Her first question when she found out it was loose was "How much will the tooth fairy bring?" Then she mentioned hearing it was something like five dollars. That girl is always looking to make some money. She has a lot of her father's blood in her.

What Kind of Shoe Are You?

You Are Cowboy Boots

This doesn't mean you're country, just funky.

You've got a ton of attitude and confidence.

You're unique, expressive, and even a little bit wacky.

You wear whatever you feel like รข€“ and you have your own sense of style.

You are straight shooting and honest. You tell people how it is.

Low maintenance and free wheeling, you're always up for an adventure.

You should live: Where you can at least get to wide open spaces

You should work: In a job that allows you to take change

There is a perk to having your garden right outside your door. I can randomly go out and look at it throughout the day. I can't believe how fast the plants grow. I love that I can go out and weed it for the few minutes that Sawyer is happy. I need to pick up some more squash and cucumber seeds. Most of the ones I planted didn't come up. That's what I get for buying the Wal-Mart brand.

I had my hopes set on getting my hair cut tomorrow. I even had a sitter arranged for the kids. My hairdresser didn't have any morning apparents though. So now I have to wait. Sometimes I think about finding a new hairdresser but I would feel like I am cheating on the one I have. I've used her for several years. Is that weird? Should I care?
*********************************
Jody said I seem like I am more burned out after having Sawyer. It makes me sad. I've really struggled this time- both emotionally and physically. Sometimes I am just tired. I know part of the problem is a lack of intimacy, but it is hard to be intimate when all the intimate parts of my body hurt. I am so lucky to be married to such a patient man. I only hope he knows how much I love him.
*********************************
I did some more bargain shopping at Kroger yesterday. Can I just tell you how much fun it is! It's a total addiction. I'm already set up for my next trip to the store. I found out about some new eSaver coupons, and I can't wait to try them out.
*********************************
Sawyer slept so well last night. He got up twice to eat and went right back to sleep. No fussing. It was wonderful. I'm hoping for a repeat tonight. I could use the sleep.

Homemade Bread

Nothing tastes better than homemade bread. I could live off the stuff. My friend Sarah gave me a recipe for wheat bread that makes three loaves. I finally found the time and energy to make some today. My plan is to make some every week or two so we can avoid buying bread at the store. I asked Jody what he thought of it and he said it was okay. Then he made some comment about how he wasn't sure he would like eating sandwhiches made with it. WTH?! Can he seriously be that warped that store bought, preservative loaded bread tastes better than the homemade stuff. I politely told him he would get use to it. ;)

It's that time of year

Thanks to a visit from a friend, I was able to get our garden in yesterday. Well, we got everything in but the bell peppers; they didn't have any at the store. This is our third attempt at a garden spot. You would think that with 41 acres, it would be easy to find a garden spot. Unfortunately we live on rock and clay, and it is impossible to till the ground. Our ground is so hard, our septic tank is partially above ground. I had the brilliant idea to use the kids sandbox as a garden spot. It didn't have any sand in it anyway. We're doing it as a square foot garden. I love the organization of it. I'm hoping that it will get enough sun. And hopefully the critters will leave it alone since it is in the middle of our yard.
